The New Year

Wow...it is New Years Eve again! Time for those resolutions that I need to try and stick to again! I am going to post of my resolutions so that I can be held accountable for them! I feel that last year was a really good year for our family! We have come a long way! We have been through a lot as a family. We met in Indiana, moved to Mississippi, moved back to Indiana and now we live in Utah! Our family has adjusted well all of these times and each year brings us great things! I miss being around my family but we really love it in Utah. I think it makes the five of us closer as a family! So, listed below are some of my resolutions!

1. This year I become a lifetime member of Weight Watchers after losing 25 lbs. and I refuse to let it come back on this year!

2. I just finished a month of boot camp and have P90X at home that I am going to start on Monday or Tuesday and stick with it.

3. I am going to be more patient with my kids and be a better mom.

4. I am going to be a better wife!

5. Get organized (which usually isn't a problem) and STAY (which is a problem) organized!

6. I am totally cheating on this one but last year a friend of mine decided to write something that she is thankful for in a journal everyday! I am totally going to try and do this! Thanks Hollie for the idea!

I may come back and add more but that is it for now! Have a safe New Year!

Ryan took this picture of me tonight and said I needed to make a post titled OMG! Yes, I did go out in public in this outfit with no makeup on! I think he really liked the baggy pants with boots!! I thought black was supposed to be slimming!

Snow Fun

I guess the snow is better late than never! I would have been nice to have a white Christmas but is still soooo pretty! The girls went out in it for a little while today and played! It was sooo cold!

Ryan had to get out and shovel! We still haven't broke down a bought a snow blower!

Ahhhhhhhhh....snow angels!

Day 23 - 25 Days of Christmas

Man was today crazy! With both Ryan and I working we haven't got much wrapping done! I am now ready for bed and it is still not done! My parents are coming tomorrow and the cleaning isn't done either! I did get some little gifts for a few neighbors put together! Ryan also played around taking some pictures with my new camera! Don't be alarmed by the snowman and Santa that he used as props!!!
Here are some of my neighbor gifts I made!

Day 22 - 25 Days of Christmas

Happy Birthday to me! I LOVE my birthday and don't think that I will ever grow out of that! I have a very awesome family when it comes to my birthday! Some might say that I am very spoiled by my husband! The girls got me a book and headphones and I got a new camera from Ryan. I am soooooooooooooooo excited to learn how to use it! Maybe I will even graduate to another lens one day! I had to work until 1:25 and then ran errands, we went to dinner, got yogurt, ran more errands and then came home and started putting together a few neighbor gifts! It was a GREAT day! These are pictures with my OLD camera!

Day 21 - 25 Days of Christmas

No pictures for today! Tonight I had dinner with my book club at Olive Garden. It was delicious! I can never seem to make it to book club when I have to read a book but you better believe I will be there for dinner! It was a much needed girls night out!

Day 20 - 25 Days of Christmas

Today we had a little get together with our good friends Brock and Tiffany and their kids! We didn't think that we were going to be able to get together because Emmie was pretty sick in the morning and stayed home but luckily she got way better as the day went on! We had pizza, exchanged gifts and the kids made sugar cookies! It has been really fun getting to know them and hanging out! Lexy and Emily got zhu zhu pets and silly rings and Madisyn got an itunes gift card! Ryan got some Colts stuff and I got an awesome Bath and Body gift basket! They sure are awesome friends! After gifts the kids made sugar cookies and decorated them!
Here is a picture of the gifts that Ryan and I got!

Day 19 - 25 Days of Christmas

Today I made treats, made more treats and made more treats! I took a picture of some but not all. Everyone seemed to enjoy them and we got some very nice Thank You emails!

Day 18 - 25 Days of Chrismtas

Today Ryan and I finished up our Christmas shopping! It was nice to spend the day together and have lunch and to finally be finished! Our first stop was into Roberts so I could get a few pieces of paper for gift tags. Guess what.....I found a matching shoulder scrap bag! It was so cute and again was also 75 percent off so I HAD to have it. So again, Happy Birthday/Merry Christmas to me! I also started my yearly treat making! Last year I started making treats for ALL of Ryan's work. This year he has 165 or so employees! That is ALOT of treats!
Here are the starts to my treats! They are called: Easy Chocolate Drops!

Tonight Emily and I went shopping for the girls friends gifts! The are each getting 3 candy canes, 1 hand sanitizer and a pair of gloves! My girls are going to have to get a job soon!

Day 16 - 25 Days of Christmas

So, today I thought was our book club dinner and a movie but I soon found out I was wrong! I sat at Olive Garden for 20 minutes and noone showed up! After not being able to find a phone someone at my house finally did and I asked Ryan to check my email....it is on the 21st! Oops! The girls and I went and watched our neighbors in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. It was really cute!

Day 15 - 25 Days of Christmas

Man am I way behind on posting! So, I just finished my 5th week of 9 teaching 3rd grade! I don't know how these teachers do it all year long! This is my third long term teaching job and I sure have A LOT more respect for teachers. Today we had so many errands to run for stuff that the girls needed for parties and such at school! Also, Emily's teachers sets up a very awesome village every year and invites her class and families to come and see it. It is really cool! Oh, and also while I was at Roberts (a crafting store) I found a scrapbook tote that I REALLY needed...I mean wanted so I called Ryan and told him about it as a hint for my birthday or Christmas but he said he was done! Well, guess who bought herself a birthday/Christmas gift! It was regular 149.99 on sale for 37.00. It was a bargain I couldn't pass up!
Here is my new Christmas/Birthday gift to myself!

Day 14 - 25 Days of Christmas

Today, my awesome friend, Jennifer gave me a Christmas present! I was at her house yesterday and she had the most beautiful poinsettia that I kept admiring. Well, when I got home from work today I had one sitting in my family room! She left it on the porch and the kids put it in the house for me to see when I got home! It is soooo pretty!

At dinner, as a family, we read about the history of the poinsettia! It was really interesting.

Emily and I also made a spice cake with a drizzle icing for my work tomorrow. It sure doesn't look pretty but it is delicious. I had to try a piece to make sure that it was ok to take to work. It sure is yummy!

Day 13 - 25 Days of Christmas

The ornaments are finally dry! I found that taking them off of the wax paper and onto a cooling rack really helped them dry faster. If you make these make sure you turn them or the ends will curl up. I went to Hobby Lobby on the way home and bought fabric paint to decorate them with. We had a GREAT time tonight decorating them. I think that they turned out really cute...what do you think?

I also made some peppermint cookies to take to work. They were actually pretty good and believe it or not I got the recipe out of my Weight Watchers magazine.
